| Warranty | I really wanted to love this pack but after receiving it and adjusting it with and without weight for literally hours, I just can’t. It is extremely stiff. The hip belt is soooooo tight and digs into me in such a painful way. The shoulder strap tightening mechanism and trekking pole holders tub my inner upper arms. I had red areas there after just sporting it about the house. Can’t imagine how much worse it would be with more arm movement and trekking poles in use. I can see some tearful treks in my future with this midevil torture device. I will be returning it. It makes me sad…I really, really wanted to love this pack. However, the material on the shoulder straps is sturdy yet soft unlike the shoulder straps on the Gregory Maven which are made of very itchy and abrasive matrrial but the Maven’s hip belt is the most comfortable I have tried so far. Maybe it is made for thin figures. I’m 188 pounds, 5’4″. I wear size 14-16 or lg-xlg bottoms and lg-xlg tops but my torso length is about 16.5″. So, small torso size pack. The belt pockets are very far back on the belt and cannot be zipped or unziped without a round of gymnastics to reach them. Maybe my backside is…maybe I am just too dang big (fat) for this pack. This review is just based on comfort and not function as I will never be able to tolerate usinging it to test its actual functionality because it is about as comfortable as one might imagine a bear trap, clamped at the hips, would be. Maybe it would be amazing if I lost 65 pounds. I guess the search continues. |
